Invitation to Community |
WHILE the toffs celebrate the opening of the
Wolli Creek Preservation Society and Residents Against Polluting Stacks (RAPS) have organised a community black tie picnic from 6pm at Turrella Reserve (near Turrella station).
Both functions will be strictly formal and both will raise money for charity - in this case the Cancer Council.
"Come and let the government know we want clean air, not just a public relations exercise!" said organiser Mark Curran.
"Wear a black tie or a black arm band!"
Mr Curran said the public was welcome to attend.
Barbecues were available at the park while the food was BYO, he said.
[PS: Clarification - the reference in the caption of Friday night refers to the Picnic, not the tunnel opening. Flash]
Bring your friends, families and food for a fun evening.
While we are having our picnic, the tunnel construction company is having a black tie charity dinner in the tunnel at $1000 a ticket.
Come and let the government know we want clean air, not just a public relations exercise!. Donations in aid of the Cancer Council.
